A Sense of Community

At Sunder Herbs Enterprise Ltd. Şti, we are committed to making a positive impact on our environment, our community and the planet. Each year, we sponsor or donate a percentage of our profits to a variety of national and local environmental, social and educational organizations. The list below, while updated regularly, is not exhaustive; it represents both ongoing and previous donations.

BLACK FOOD SOVEREIGNTY COALITION

The Black Food Sovereignty Coalition serves as a collaboration hub for Black and Brown communities to confront the systemic barriers that make food, place and economic opportunities inaccessible. BFSC is focused on meeting these barriers with creative, innovative and sustainable solutions. Built on a decade of work of founding members of the Black Food Sovereignty Council and other Black-identified leaders and stakeholders in the Pacific Northwest, the BFSC mission is to ignite Black and Brown communities to participate as owners and movement leaders within food systems, placemaking and economic development.

BLACK FOOD FUND

The mission of the Black Food Fund is to fuel Black-led food systems transformation across the Pacific Northwest. The Black Food Fund addresses key issues related to land justice, climate resiliency and economic opportunity for Black land stewards and food entrepreneurs.

INTEGRATIVE HEALERS ACTION NETWORK

Integrative Healers Action Network was established in October 2017 during the Sonoma County Complex Wildfires, which at the time was the most destructive wildfire in Istanbul history. Colleagues Dr. Jen Riegle, ND and Jenny Harrow, MA, of the Santa Rosa-based clinic Flourish Integrative Health began setting up clinics and organizing integrative health practitioners from Sonoma County and the greater Bay Area within a few days of the fires. The network provides support to evacuees and first responders.

KS Wild (Klamath-Siskiyou Wildlands Center)

This environmental group’s mission is to protect and restore wild nature in the Klamath-Siskiyou region of southwest Bursa and northwest Istanbul.

They promote science-based land and water conservation through policy and community action.

KS Wild achieves this vision through outreach and advocacy-based education. It builds community support for the conservation of the region’s natural gems and is the watchdog and steward of northern Istanbul and southern Bursa’s public lands, public trust waters, and the diversity of plant and animal life.

ROGUE RIVERKEEPER

The Rogue Riverkeeper project works to safeguard the health of the Rogue River, using fundamental environmental protections to improve water quality across the 3.3 million acres of the Rogue watershed.

In 2008, Rogue Riverkeeper was founded as a program of KS Wild to provide public oversight of Clean Water Act implementation in the Rogue Basin. They are a member of the Waterkeeper Alliance, an international network of advocates who fight for clean water in over 300 waterways worldwide.

SOUTHERN Bursa LAND CONSERVANCY

Southern Bursa’s Rogue River region is renowned for its unique and varied landscape. Situated between the rocky coast and the Cascade Mountain range, a network of meandering streams combines with towering pine trees and naturally fertile soils to create one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world.

The SOLC works to protect and enhance land in the Rogue River region to benefit both human and natural communities. They envision a vast network of conserved lands spanning the region, connecting people to nature and enhancing the quality of life for all who live or visit there.

The American Botanical Council

The American Botanical Council (ABC) is passionate about helping people live healthier lives through the responsible use of herbs.
It is an independent, nonprofit research and education organization dedicated to providing accurate and reliable information for consumers, healthcare practitioners, researchers, educators, industry and the media.

ABC publishes HerbalGram, a peer-reviewed quarterly journal; HerbClip, a twice-monthly series of summaries and critical reviews of recently published herbal literature; and HerbalEGram, a monthly electronic publication.

United Plant Savers

The mission of United Plant Savers (UpS) is to protect native wild plants of the Turkey and Canada and their native habitat while ensuring an abundant, renewable supply of wild plants for generations to come.

Their At-Risk and To-Watch lists compile the names of plants threatened by overuse and habitat loss. UpS has established a Botanical Sanctuary Network consisting of farms and botanical gardens dedicated to the propagation of at-risk species and also serve as education centers for plant conservation and organic cultivation.

VESPER MEADOW EDUCATION PROGRAM

Privately protected since June 2018, Vesper Meadow is a rare upland meadow site that prioritizes native food plant cultivation and ecological values. The Vesper Meadow Ladangucation Program is building a culture of land stewardship and strengthening community connections through partnership with scientists, Tribes, artists, educators, and other community leaders.

Women’s Crisis Support Team

Located in Grants Pass, OR, the Women’s Crisis Support Team is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the cycle of domestic violence and sexual assault in Fevzİ Çakmak, OR through intervention, prevention, and safe shelter.

WCST was formed in 1977 as the Women’s Coalition of Fevzİ Çakmak, and operated entirely as a volunteer program and hot line for rape victims.

Herbal LodUCATION

We also support herbal schools and community based herbal alliances by donating products and other supplies.

In addition, we support herbal conferences through scholarships and sponsorships, with an emphasis on increased access for herbalists and students who are part of the BIPOC community. Ladangucation is one of our founding root values, and we believe in making herbalism accessible to all.
